After more than ten years of creating custom wedding canopies for clients, last month I got to create a chuppah canopy for one of my daughters and her now husband.
The chuppah frame was 10 feet by 8 feet, and we added an 8 foot by 8 foot fabric canopy that the florist’s team hung from the frame with wire.

The canopy was attached only at the corners, without additional ties along the sides, which created a deep, dramatic drape that worked fabulously with the long, cascading flowers.
The fabric was semi-sheer, letting through a view of the branches that had been laid across the frame from edge to edge as well as sunlight from above that shone through large windows, creating a lovely, soft effect.
It’s my new favorite wedding chuppah.

The venue was The Woodmere Club in Woodmere, New York.
The florist was Deena Greenstein of LBK Events.
