New pattern: 54 Hebrew alephbet letters for sewing and crafts

54 Hebrew letter patterns PDF

This week I’m excited to release a new Hebrew alephbet letter pattern collection for sewing and crafting. The pattern collection is in PDF format, and it’s available now for download in the Sew Jewish Etsy shop: Hebrew alephbet letter pattern collection.

You can use these letters to personalize a quilt, add text to a challah cover or chuppah canopy, and create unique items for your home.

The collection includes the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, from aleph to tav, and the 5 final letters.

Also, each letter is included in both standard format and in a backwards version. If you do machine applique and use iron-on webbing to create appliques, you’ll appreciate the convenience of the backwards letters for tracing onto the webbing.

The backwards letters also work great for paper crafts. You can print the backwards versions directly onto your project paper. When you cut them out and place the letters right side up on your project, any remaining printer ink is hidden on the underside of the letters.

With the standard and backwards versions, there are 54 letter patterns in total.

I designed the pattern collection originally because I wanted a set of Hebrew letter forms that worked well for hand appliques, with consideration for the shapes of the curves and angles and with spaces and lines that would accommodate the creation of hems around the entire outlines of the letters. This design process took nearly a year. The result is a set of patterns that work well for a wide variety of sewing and craft projects.

You can find the pattern set on Etsy where it’s available in PDF format for immediate download.
