Row by Row 2016 Is On – Support Your Local Fabric Shop

Hey quilters, Row by Row 2016 is on. The annual fabric store hop launched on Tuesday, and this year’s theme is “Home Sweet Home”. All summer long, local quilt fabric shops across the United States and Canada are giving away free, original quilt row patterns based on this year’s theme. A handful of shops in Europe participate, too.

Chances are, your local quilting fabric shop is participating, so this is a great time to stop in and show them some love. And as you travel this summer, stop in local shops to pick up more quilt rows, enough to make a full quilt. If you’re the first person to bring a completed 8-row quilt to a participating shop, you can win a prize of 25 fat quarters — Get more details on that on the Row by Row website.

Traveling in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley? I’m giving a shout out to my local shop, Hudson Valley Quilt & Sew in Cornwall.

Visit the Row by Row website for a list of participating shops.

Here’s a sample of some of the quilt row designs that await you this summer:

Patricas’ Fabric House, East Rochester, New York

Ben Franklin Apothecary, Duncanville, Texas

Cool Cottons, Portland, Oregon

The City Quilter, Manhattan, New York

Undercover Quilts, Seattle, Washington
